This Indian caffetteria off Piazza Vittorio serves chicken curryies, lentil stews and many vegetarian dishes in an extremely basic dining room. At Kabir Fast Food, the television blasts Bollywood hits and the bright fluorescent lighting and formica tables are strictly utilitarian. Your meal is served on plastic plates and you can help yourself to tap water from one of the jugs on the table or order an Indian beer or mango lassi to wash away the spicy food. Start with one of the fried vegetable samosas or pakoras and finish with one of the tooth-achlingly sweet desserts, such as ras gulla and gulab jamun. The staff is super friendly, service is quick and you’d be hard pressed to spend more the €10 for a full meal.
