This weekend beat the city heat and enjoy the local flavors of the Roman environs.

Get to know the wines of the Tuscia at the annual summer event Le Feste del Vino della Tuscia, which will be held every weekend through August 18. Each weekend a different town in the area will be hosting a weekend of wine and food. For more details visit the event website.

July 26-28, the village of Marino will host the Castelli Romani Beer Festival. Over the weekend, visitors will be able to sample local craft beers from Lazio, as well as products from Slow Food Mercato della Terra di Ciampino. There will also be musical entertainment. The event starts at 11:00 on Friday and continues until midnight on Sunday. See the Facebook event page for details.

July 26-28, enjoy the flavors of the ciociaria in the town of Serrone for the 7th edition of the Sagra della Patacca e della Passerina. Patacca is a local pasta made with water and flour and Passerina is a local white wine. The event starts at 20:00 on July 26 and there will be entertainment, food and wine stands. Also from July 26-28, Civitella d’Agliano will host the 10th edition of The Festival of Grechetto, celebrating the local grechetto grape. The event starts at 18:00 on July 26 and ends at 22:00 on July 28. You can check out the event on Facebook for more information.

On July 27, Bio Bistro will host an evening dedicated to craft beer and independent music. The event is free and starts at 18:00. Beer can be purchased either by paying €4 for a single glass or €14 to enjoy 4 different types of beer. Check out the event page on Facebook for more information.

Also on July 27, the Association Cala Felci will present “Ponza in Tavola” a festival featuring food tastings inspired by the Bourbon colonization of 1700. The celebration starts at 19:00. For more information visit the event site.

On July 31, Comptoir de France will host another Champagne tasting from their month-long series. This tasting is dedicated to unconventional Champagne, with tastings of Jérome Prévost Les Béguines Extra-Brut 2010 and Vouette et Sorbée Extra-Brut Rosé Cuvée Saignée de Sorbée. The sparkling wines will be paired with appropriate snacks. The cost of the tasting is €30 and space is limited so reserve your place in advance.
